A couple of months ago I handed K the Oriental Trading catalog that happened to come in the mail and told her to pick a theme for her birthday party.

I did this with an almost-four-year old little girl.  It was pretty fun to watch her page through it and say “Oooh, I want this!!” about 50 bajillion times. And then the catalog came apart, you know, from all the page-flipping.

Of course she chose 5-6 different themes, including rainbow unicorn and pink cowgirl and ponies and even glanced at the Sophia the princess stuff.  But she kept landing on good old fashioned Princesses time and time again.  So I chose for her because we were not having a multi, multi-themed party. Momma don’t play that.  (Also, I totally called it.  I mean, hello, she’s a total Princess).

I didn’t really “go all out” this time, but I still think her party was quite cute and fun.  We had a princess bounce house (they even upgraded us to one with a slide inside!), pink everywhere and great friends to celebrate with us.

Not to mention homemade cake (yes, I did bake it from scratch and yes, there may have been a few sticks of butter involved).

And yes, it was really good.

The party also came with costume changes from K who went from being “Belle” to “Cinderella” within an hour’s time.  This girl truly cracks me up, in a wonderful way.

(no, I do not plan to become one of those Toddlers & Tiaras moms, just in case you were wondering…)

(but if I did she would totally win, just sayin;) ;-p

why yes, those are crown and glass slipper sandwiches

Thanks to K’s friends for joining us at the party, even the boys who were brave enough to enter the Princess’ castle… 🙂
