Won’t you?

I walked into the kitchen to turn out the light and approached the sink to put in my empty glass.  Darkness filled the room and I looked through the window over the sink to make sure the outside light was on, over the driveway.

Tim was gone again.  And not for good reason.

I noticed movement and glanced up to see my neighbors across our driveways, at their own kitchen sink.   There they were together, through the panes and the branches and tree leaves.

I thought about how blessed they are to still have each other after all these years.

I thought about how much I missed Tim.

I thought about life and love and this day, so long and so difficult.

But sometimes from a really bad thing, good things come.

I made sure to let each of my immediate family members know how much I love them just the other day. Distance should not keep us from saying so.

And life is too short to not say it.  Don’t you think?

Life WAS too short for someone I know.  For someone I cared about. For someone gone too soon.

These days we live are not guaranteed.  Each one is a gift.  And the people who love us – THEY are a gift.

And hope is a gift.  And faith that things WILL work out and the belief that your life is worth something.

I am working on taking things for granted less.  Sometimes it’s a challenge, I will admit.

But what has transpired as of late has given me new perspective.

I was put here to love and love I shall do.

Even myself.

Won’t you?
