There she was. (A Birthday Post)

When I found out I was pregnant in January of 2009 it was a surprise.

A really BIG surprise.

Tim and I were actually a little shell-shocked for a few days. We would just look at each every few minutes like deer, caught in head lights. It’s not that I didn’t want another baby, I just wasn’t expecting to have one.

And from day ONE my pregnancy was different from the first two and somewhere deep in my heart I hoped and even think I knew, that it was a girl.

As they say, “God works in mysterious ways.”

Not only did we have a girl but we had her in a state that was NOT home to me and for her birth, I went into an O.R. with a doctor I’d only known for about 10 weeks.

And then, there she was.

Like my little light at the end of the tunnel of a crazy year with Tim traveling and our move and all kinds of changes.

There. SHE. was.

And I cannot even begin to put into words how much of a gift this child is to us. She’s joy and light and beauty and fun and sweetness all rolled into one.

God also works in WONDERFUL, AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL ways.

Yep, that’s how HE works…

Our family is now complete. That is for sure. And She, my beautiful Kay Kay, tweetle-bird is the exclamation point at the end of our family sentence.

My heart is so full of love and gratitude for HER on this her very FIRST of birthdays.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY my baby.

I love you always and forever,
Mommy
