Some days…

Some days I am so full of words and pictures and thoughts and I have to get them out.

But today I sit here with the cursor blinking as my head pounds and not much is coming to me.

I did think of the all the cute kids at the birthday party we went to Sunday, the yard littered with little boys and girls shoes, all left behind as they entered the bounce house.  Castle actually.

And what a brilliant idea my friend had – to ask us to please bring gently used toys or books that we no longer use ourselves.

I am SO copying that idea.

I also thought of the dinner we shared on Saturday night with our two younger children while the oldest was at a birthday party.

K chowed down on hummus and pita bread and kept running around the restaurant.  I figured she was bothering everyone around us but all they did was smile and say “Sha”, as they like to around here.

Her giggles carried through the restaurant and her high-wattage smile stole hearts as I chased her down.

We found dessert back at the birthday party where our friends shared cupcakes with us and we watched the end of the local college football game at the ice skating rink where the party was held.

And everyone celebrating.  A birthday and a win.

These moments, these days.  They all catch up to me.

I sit and wonder how I got here.  Where I am going next.  Who will enter my life that I never expected, just like all of these amazing people did?

I guess it’s not my place to know.

Not now anyway.
