A Play in Two Acts – “The Toot”

Act I

The Scene: 6:15 a.m. Dark hotel room. Mommy & Daddy half asleep in king-sized bed. Five-year old boy child half asleep on fold away bed. Two-year old boy child AWAKE in Pack n’ Play.

2 yo Boy Child: Benna?

5 yo Boy Child: What Gav?

2 yo Boy Child: Blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, jibber jabber, jibber jabber and something that must’ve sounded like “doggie.”

5 yo Boy Child: No, Gav, we don’t have a doggie at our house.

slight pause….

Act II

The Scene: Still the same but Daddy let’s out a short but loud “toot.”

5 yo Boy Child: giggle, giggle, giggle…

2 yo Boy Child: Daddy TOOT!!

Mommy & Daddy begin LAUGHING like crazy lying in bed togther and boy children follow suit. Mommy revels in the fact that 2 yo boy child KNEW it was Daddy who tooted and not her! : )
