Beautiful. I don’t necessarily mean drop dead gorgeous (although many are). I just think any mother who is kind and loving to her children is beautiful.

Conflicted.
When we’re with our children sometimes we wish we were somewhere else. When we are not with our children MOST of the time we wish we were…

Driving. A lot. And I only have one in full time school right now. It’s gonna get worse.

Excited
. To see her baby’s gorgeous face for the first time. To see them go pee-pee on the potty. To watch their Kindergarten play. To see them walk down the aisle…

Flexible.
And I don’t mean good at yoga. My schedule changed 3 times yesterday due to naps, etc.

Green, at first anyway. You have to live it yourself to really KNOW.

Hippy. Even if yours aren’t that big, you know you’ve carried your baby there.

Inventive. What have YOU turned into a diaper or wipe on the fly? 😉

Joyful. I know we all have our moments of not, but for the most part, my kids bring me TONS of joy. I watched Little G peeling his own clementine yesterday and was filled with joy. Kinda sounds ridiculous, I know. But it’s true.

Keeping memories. We blog, we take photographs, we scrapbook, we tell stories. We WANT to remember these days because they go so fast.

Loved. Our children love us so much. They show us with hugs and pictures they draw for us and the ultimate, “I love you, Mommy.” I’m gonna cry just typing it.

Multi-Faceted. Enough said.

Needed. A nose needs wiping, a hug is in order, someone you love needs a push on the swing or to be tucked into bed. We are so, so needed.

Overwhelmed
at times. The baby is crying, the toddler’s whining for a snack and the kiddo is complaining about the injustice of it all. Calgon, take me away.

Protective. It just comes naturally. We WANT to protect our children from the world, or even little things like falling off their bike.

Questioning. Ourselves. Other mothers. That’s just HOW we are.

Real. We are in the trenches here ladies. Motherhood is challenging. Sometimes I yell at my kids. Sometimes I want to run away (but just for like an hour to get a pedicure…)

Smitten
. How could you not be? They are so beautiful and do the cutest things EVER!! 🙂

Tired a lot. That’s just the nature of the beast.

“Under Contract” forever. They are ours always and forever and we love them unconditionally, even if they screw up really, really BAD.

Vigilant. Dictionary.com says “keenly watchful. ” Yes, I had to look it up. You know, to make sure it applied. And it does. Especially while at the park or the mall.

Worried. We can’t help it. It comes with the territory. I try hard to curb it myself and not worry too much but sometimes we just do.

Xtra Prepared. (sorry, like NO words start with “X”), Extra clothes, diapers, wipes, tissues. You know the drill.

Yielding
. Sometimes we give in. We are only human.

Zany. At least I am at times. I love to listen to my kids laugh when I act foolish and silly.

There’s nothing else like it.

Motherhood, that is.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of us!
