Elaine and Tim Sittin’ in a Tree…

Y’all know the rest, right?

Nine years ago today Tim and I said our “I do’s.” Actually though, when I think about it, we never actually said “I do,” I don’t think. I do believe we said “I wills.” And we meant them.

It was a beautiful 85 degree day in Texas and I am pretty sure I smiled all day long. Well, except for maybe in the morning, when I was showering and the cake people called my apartment and told my gal pal that was with me that the table cloths weren’t at the reception hall yet (they were in my brother’s trunk) and that they had nowhere to put the cake.

My reaction? Ah, it’s fine. My brother will be there any minute. They’ll figure it out. I’m gettin’ married today, to the love of my life. {wash, wash, wash my almost-married hair…} Yep, even the lack of table-clothery couldn’t get me down on one of the happiest days of my life.

And guess what, my brother showed up while they were still on the phone. Honestly, the day couldn’t have gone any better. And our love continues to grow and grow and grow.

Here are some more of my feelings today…

My husband is {pausing a moment here as I start to gush}….

* Patient (which makes up for the fact that I am not…)

* Loving (to me and our boys)

* Funny (OH BOY! can he crack me up!)

* Smart (you can do what with Excel???)

* Passionate (even if it is about The Cowboys…)

* Faithful (without a doubt)

* Handsome (well yeah, why do you think I snatched him up right away?)

* Understanding (thanks for letting me cry even if it is just over a sink of dirty dishes.)

* Knows when I need a drink (this alone is worth SO much!) ; )

I love you my dearest Timothy and I am so blessed and thankful to have you in my life as my forever love. Happy 9th Anniversary my Ber!*

*(nickname…. long story….)
