Bullet Journals, Only Love Today & Take Flight

You know what is really cool? Paper.

(It’s also cool when two random people in your life say you look like you’ve lost weight, within a week’s time. Just sayin’.)

Anyway, I’ve always liked paper. To save, to cut, to write on, to tear, to use to draw or glue or paint on. Paper rocks.

(also, this makes me want to play rock, paper, scissors for some reason…)

Ages ago, I loved to create my own scrapbooks. Even as a kid I had several old-school magnetic photo albums, which I use to collect all of my school and travel memorabilia. And before that, I simply used a notebook to collect all kinds of things – from photos to ticket stubs (yes, even from favorite movies)(can you imagine doing that now?)

I’m a sentimental person (can you tell?) and a saver of the paper. It’s a blessing and a curse. Memories are wonderful, but they also tend to pile up when there is an abundance of tangible ones.

I still love my scrapbooks (the finished ones, that is). In my mid-20’s, Creative Memories was a thing, and scrapbooking stores were all the rage.  My gal pals and I would get together on the weekends to gab and scrap. It was pretty fun. But life moves on, and after creating several very beautiful and intricate and wow-that-was-a-lot-of-money-and-time-spent-on-that books (four for Ben alone), I sort of threw in the towel about the time Katie was born. Because yeah, who has time for that anymore? (hint: not me)

However, I’ve never been able to part with the abundance of supplies… probably because of the money-spent aspect mentioned above. It wasn’t just stickers and pens, people. We are talking about fancy tools (the thing that makes little piece of paper into stickers is still my favorite) and LOTS of papers (there’s that word again), different kinds of scissors, and on and on…

Take this love and add it to the fact that I like to plan and stay organized, as well as write, and I have arrived at bullet journaling.

Some friends mentioned it a few months ago and I was all, “Yeah, I don’t have time for another ‘thing'”. But then I finally read this article (which piqued my interest but made me nervous because of that first image – scary-perfect, right?), after a few days of leaving the tab open on my computer. And then I was all, “I can do this!” And I mostly have the stuff! (I won’t like, I hit up the Tarjay dollar spot for some stuff and some pens from the office section…).

Things have gotten more detailed and complicated since this photo was taken!

I hope I can keep up with it. It’s only been a couple of weeks so, I’ll let y’all know…

Also, I’m excited to be on the launch team for a so-far-really-amazing book! Only Love Today, written by Rachel Macy Stafford (I have read and reviewed her other books, Hands Free Mama and Hands Free Life), is full of reminders about how to love ourselves, despite our faults. I will admit I have not delved that much into it yet, however one of the MOST appealing things about this book is anyone can open it to any page, any day, and find inspiration. It’s outlines like the seasons of the year, each one representing certain times in our lives. It is not the typical front-to-back kind of read, but instead an “open me whenever you need to read some wonderful words today” kind of read. The purpose of this book it to “read, reset, and be reminded to love”, via Rachel’s words.

If you would like to win a copy of the book, please leave a comment on this post and I will randomly pick a winner by the end of the week. Easy Peasy! Also, if you do not want to wait, you can pre-order! Pre-order gifts include: 4 adult coloring pages, 4 reminder signs, 4 bookmarks, and an Only Love Today phone lock screen.

I mentioned that I have a new job in my last post but I did not give it enough air (blog) time. I am SO thrilled to be working with some of my greatest online friends at Take Flight Social Media!! Talk about something in my wheelhouse. 🙂 Nichole and Tonya and I have been writing/blogging/internet friends for a while now, and thankfully I have also hugged both of them several times in person. The opportunity to work with them is just the coolest. It is especially neat, since I never would have predicted that three of us (and Angela!) would be working together this way. It just proves once again that online relationships are real and thriving!

I also really love that fact that a theme for myself lately has been to “fly”, and now I am working for a company called “Take Flight”. Some things are just meant to be…

And if you anyone that needs help in this area please let me know! We are taking new clients as I type!

Okay, you’re all caught up. Now I gotta get that way too. Hey, it could happen.
