A Blessingway

On Sunday we celebrated a friend of mine who is due to have her third child soon.

Instead of a shower we joined in her honor for a Blessingway.

We pampered her with foot and hand rubs and a foot soak and gave her yummy things to eat and drink.

We read a few poems that made us all cry and reminded us to cherish these moments and days with our babies.

We each gave her a special bead for a necklace that she will wear while she labors.

We decorated unique burp cloths for her to use with her new blessing.

And we united ourselves with a piece of yarn for each of us to wear until the baby is born.

We laughed, chatted, enjoyed delicious food and celebrated our friend and the joy of the new life she is about to bring into the world.

It was nothing short of amazing, all of us women gathered in friendship and in love.

the gorgeous hostesses, Sarah* and Jenny with the guest of honor, Marie.
I feel so blessed to have been there.

*Sarah took some of these photographs, including the first one, which I LOVE!
