My sweet Katie-Kay is three today.

Aw, it’s like a little poem.

And really, so is she.

I have so much joy with her in my life, it’s hard to describe.

Of course I love shopping for cute outfits and headbands that she doesn’t leave in her hair for long and brushing her hair and taking photos of her adorable face.

But there’s just something different about having a daughter.

We just kinda get each other, you know?

Plus, she’s just SO sweet.

And don’t get me wrong.  She (we) has her days.  And she’s dang stubborn too. (NO idea who she got that from……..)

And bossy.  Oh my, the bossy.

But of course, I am in love with her even if she is constantly telling me what to do.

In the mornings she immediately demands breakfast (her favorites are yogurt and cereal).  And she wants to get dressed and put her shoes on when her brothers are doing the same for school.  I love to do something with her hair but she is not so much a fan, although she’s coming over to my side a bit…

(yay for pigtails!!)

She talks well and a lot. Even big brother B comments on it.  She loves Mickey Mouse Club House and Jake and the Neverland Pirates (I think it’s going to blow her mind when we go to see our friend play “Michael” in a local production of Peter Pan in a few weeks…).  She also loves “fruit strips” and granola bars for snacks and she’s a big fan of cheese.

She still naps on the days she is here with me but it takes her a while to calm down.  She usually takes toys or books into bed with her and I hear her playing and singing for a bit until she gives in…

In the afternoons, after school she insists on doing her “homework” too and so I get a book out that has letters or numbers and she colors.  Plus we go over numbers and ABCs at the same time the boys are hard at work.

On Thursday mornings we go to her Little Gym class and she loves it!  She already does flips on the (kid-sized) bars and loves the balance beam.  I’m also already thinking about dance class since she loves to boogie and sing.  Plus little girl tutus are REALLY cute. 😀

As is little girl jewelry, which she also loves.  It is extremely cute when she’s sporting one of her necklaces.  Plus she has a penchant for shoes, proving that she is most certainly MY daughter.

This girl also loves books.  I’ve mentioned it before but I think it’s just so cute how when I sit down to read her and G a book at night before bed, she goes and gets her own book to “read”, sits down next to us and starts making up words/stories.  LOVE. IT.

She’s not making much progress in the potty department I don’t want to talk about it.  I’ll just leave it at that.

The hardest part about this birthday?

Well, it’s the fact that I have to fully admit that my last baby is no longer a baby.

Even if I call her “baby” just as a nickname she says, “MOM! I am NOT a baby!!”

Got it.  Thanks. (heart sting)

Her hugs are amazing, I love to brush her hair.  I like to play dress up and dolls and kitchen and Squinkies (sometimes) and I like to kiss her face a million times a day.

Thank you, God for giving me this sweet little soul to be my daughter.

I am forever grateful.

Happy Birthday my little Tweetle Bird, I love you so…
