All Gussied Up

Our next-door neighbors got married yesterday.
We met Nancy and her son A.J. when we moved here 4 years ago and last year Nancy met Scott. Yesterday they married in one of the sweetest ceremonies I’ve seen in a while. They exchanged vows and rings and then gave A.J. a family pendant. All three of them committed themselves to their new union. It was such a beautiful thing to witness.
Not to mention the cake was REALLY good!! I don’t know if I’ve ever proclaimed my love for GOOD wedding cake on here before, so let me just tell you now. I LOVE wedding cake. I think it’s the icing. It’s just so good and sweet. Now I wish I had more. Anyone getting married anytime soon?
Oh and there was an open bar.
And, just the hubs and I went.
And… (yes, there’s more…) I got to wear my new dress that I bought a couple of weeks ago! Woah people, hold yourself back from all the excitedment!! But really, it was so nice to dress up and feel feminine and “girly.” Sometimes we just need to do that to remind ourselves that we are! Honestly, I get tired of wearing that same “Mommy” outfit all the time. So thanks to Nancy and Scott for getting married so I could have a reason to get “all gussied up.” (that’s Southern for dressed up, in case you didn’t know…)
So let’s review, shall we?
Sweet wedding.
Awesome cake.
A little free wine.
Time alone with my man.
Wearing a dress and heels.
Yeah, life is good. : )
