WW – House de Gingerbread

December 17, 2008 by Elaine

I bought a gingerbread house kit on sale at Macy’s a few weeks back (yeah, you know, that Martha Stewart stuff…) The B Man and Anna had fun helping me decorate it today. Now the question is, how long can we wait until we eat it? Hmmmm….
The “naked” house

The little elves hard at work

Gotta make sure the shingles are actually edible…

Pretty close, huh?

My daughter and husband have a tradition each year. They decorate a gingerbread house together. I love it! You always have to make sure it’s all edible. LOL

Help a famiy very dear to my heart have a memorable Christmas. It only takes a stamp! http://www.three-peas.com/2008/12/operation-christmas-card.html

    Hi Elaine

I have had so much fun catching up on your blog.

I have seen similar gingerbread houses and thought they were such a great idea. I am yet to give one a go. I think it would make a fun family activity.

It sounds as though you and your husband had a perfect weekend getaway. You look fabulous in the photos.

I enjoyed having a peep at your Christmas decorations. Your tree is gorgoeus and you have beautiful ornaments. I think your “believe” santa sign is so sweet. Oh and that hot chocolate with colored marshmallows looks so yummy. Christina did such a stunning job of your family christmas photo.

That Christmas tree in Galleria Mall is amazing. That would definately be worth seeing.

Thank you so much Elaine for keeping my sister in your prayers. We appreciate your thoughts and take a lot of comfor in knowing that so many people are thinking of and praying for our Renae.

    Lots of love and hugs
    Elise.

Looks better than the pic on the box, that’s for sure! I’m not sure I could get all the way to the end in making one, without eating it all.

They did a great job. My kit still sits unopened, I only got as ambitious as making some ice cream cone trees over the weekend. I need me some lion courage.

You did great! OMG. Seriously, you may have missed your calling.

You should have seen the mess I ended up with in the back of the minivan today after a gingerbread making extravaganza with our kids. I ended up instructing them to assemble their houses sideways “like a tornado blew them over” because they kept collapsing.

Let’s just say the minivan is going to smell like Royal icing well into 2009.
