Weekly Weigh In – Week 5

February 3, 2010 by Elaine

I’m becoming a broken record around here.

My weight DID NOT change. Again. I’m not even going to post the number because, me personally, I’m tired of looking at it and you probably are too.

Again, I did not GAIN weight but AGAIN, I did not lose.

My theory is that I’m still taking in too many calories but I’ve also been really good most nights, not eating stuff after about 7 or 8 p.m. And I’ve been trying to eat just low fat desserts.

I have NOT been drinking enough water, I know that. But it’s hard while taking care of the baby and toddler during the day I don’t even think about it unless I’m sitting down to lunch. I try to remember to put some in the car on the way to pick up The B Man from school but most days I’m running out the door so fast that I forget.

Anyway, I am tired of the number but because I’m working out my clothes are starting to fit a tad better and I can see glimpses of my pre-pregnancy body in the mirror especially when I suck in. heehee.

It might also help if I was doing some of the assignments at The Sisterhood but for whatever reason I’m not motivated enough. I do recommend it to others though and if you need the motivation to lose some weight, these ladies (and guy) are wonderful!

Okay I’m out. Hope to report back next week with a loss but then, what’s new? Hope springs eternal as they say…

Keep at it, it’s hard when you have three little ones running around. I keep telling you, I didn’t even start to get serious until Kamden was 2. It takes time!

    You are doing great!

About the water drinking, I wanted to tell you what I do. I got one of those huge 44oz cups from the gas station, you know the ones that you put pop in and I fill and refill that all day long. If you can drink 2 of those then you will have all the water that you need for a whole day. Plus its handy b/c its so big and I don’t have to refill it often.

Just something that works for me 🙂

Hang in there….I know it is rough. I’m trying to lose about 5 pounds that snuck up on me over the holidays…who am I kidding, there was no sneaking up just me stuffing my face with Christmas cookies. Anyway, I have really been trying to drink more water and exercise more regularly but some days it is just hard!

You can do it my friend, you can do it!

Don’t worry about that darn number. Worry about making positive changes for the long haul.

    love ya!

I do the same thing Jen does with the water and it works better. Hang in there. The scale will move. You are just on a plateau.

Keep at it! You can do it!

It is hard to drink all the water we are supposed to. I fill up a jug (the one they give you at the hospital) and drink away all day long. As long as I drink two of those a day I know I am getting my water in. It really does help. Not that I’m loosing any weight either. Urg.

Don’t worry the numbers will start lining up…as long as the clothes are feeling better that means your body is changing! Getting enough water while caring for the kiddos is tough, but if you start the beginning of the day with a big bottle and keep it with you as you run around you’ll have enough water every day!

You can do it! Eat meals with protein, (healthy) carbs and healthy fats.

    Drink lots of water……

    it will happen.

    I am down 10 pounds in 4 weeks…..

I’ve been slacking this week…I blame PMS 🙂

We’ll get back into it, hun. I think you are doing great! And like I tell myself, I won’t do it perfectly every day and that’s okay. As long as I am more conscious of my decisions.

    xoxo

I agree with all the other ladies. It does take time and if your clothes are starting to fit better then the number doesn’t matter. Water is a big one for me. I try to drink it all day long. The exercises on the sisterhood have helped me a lot for this challenge. I did not do last weeks yet, I am having a hard time with that one.

All I can say is don’t give up! You will work through this plateau and will shoot down quickly!
    You will get there!

Aw it’s so tough! I am lousy at losing weight because I love food. The only thing that works for me is running, because it really burns those calories. But, a few other things for you to consider: if you’re not getting good sleep at night this can affect your ability to lose weight. Also, consider that meal triangle thingy – eating a big breakfast, medium lunch, small dinner…

My advice would be to not put so much focus on how much you weigh. Take a break from the scales and focus instead on what you look like. Like you said, your clothes are starting to fit better so… yay!

Just keep with it. You’ll start to see a change soon. You CAN do this. You can.

sometimes its just hard to get it going (or keep it going). just keep working at it until it snaps into place for you 🙂
