WW – We Miss You Dada

December 3, 2008 by Elaine

So the hubs has gone a travelin’ again. The two weeks with him home was wonderful but all good things must come to an end. At least in this case.

The boys are really starting to miss him more when he’s gone and both of them cried for him tonight.

Little G is now used to Dada giving big hugs as he comes through the door from work and this afternoon/evening he kept looking for him. I went out to the garage for something and I guess he thought Tim would be there and he just kept saying “Dada!” while I had the door open. And then when Dada wasn’t here to kiss him goodnight it was NOT a pretty scene. It’s sweet, but it breaks my heart.

The B Man was also sad during dinner, prayers and just all evening in general. He even played the super sad role while on the phone with him tonight.
But before bed the boys and I had a quiet moment in the rocking chair in which I sang them this song. For some reason I memorized it years ago and when Dada is gone is seems quite appropriate. (sidenote: I did not sound like a little mouse when I sang the song… just in case you were wondering).

Somewhere out there
Beneath the pale moonlight
Someone’s thinking of me
And loving me tonight.

Somewhere out there,
Someone’s saying a prayer
That we’ll find one another
In that big somewhere out there.

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we’re sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we’ll be together
Somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true…

Aw, it’s tough when they travel isn’t it, especially on the kidlets. The hubs is still away but home tomorrow night, and the kids are so excited.

That song always pulls on my heartstrings.. American Tail, right?

Oh, that is simply adorable E – I’m not brave enough to sing. I hate it when hubby is away, too. It’s very tough on the kids – and your sanity.

Believe me – I feel your pain on the missing Daddy thing. My son looks at pictures of his dad and says “Dada” and it just kills me.

But only a few more weeks and my hubby will be back!

    Hang in there!
