These are the Days – WW

December 22, 2010 by Elaine

We had friends over to decorate cookies today. Six boys and Baby K was the only girl. Needless to say after decorating and “downing” a few cookies it turned into full contact football wrestling in the back yard. But that’s okay, the weather was nice and boys got some energy out.

But my favorite part of today?

Well, it’s a toss up. It may have been when Baby K was toddling around with her favorite lovey, “L.C.” (stands for lamb chop).

Or perhaps it was when I looked out the kitchen window at one point and saw this…

That would be my oldest child sitting outside with his legs crossed, while wearing red “festive” socks, reading his “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” coloring book.

Or maybe it was when Little G was singing his version of a line from “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” song and he sang,
“I wouldn’t touch you with a thirty-nine and half ‘FITball….!!'” (his word for “football”, which is also wrong, as it should be “foot pole”.) It really is funny, especially before all the explaining and you know, in person.

Or MAYBE, just maybe my favorite part of today was when I ate the gingerbread house cookie that I decorated….

But I’ll never tell which one was really my favorite…

p.s. If you haven’t read my Christmas letter or seen my our family Christmas card yet, go see!

What a fun day but I have a hard time fathoming shorts, playing football and decorating Christmas cookies all in one day. Where is the sledding and skating and freezing your tooshie off?

    😉

I love, love, love K with her lamb and soother! Adorable!

I’m so jealous that your kid is sitting outside in short at this time of year. That is all. Jealous consumes me.
