The Randomizer Found ME!

December 5, 2008 by Elaine

Seriously it, did, check my first tidbit on here.

But really, it’s just a list of random stuff. TGIF.

I have won a few giveaways lately. Yay for me! : )

*Right before Thanksgiving I won some “turkey bucks” from HotMomReviews. It made a nice little dent in the purchase of the turkey! Thanks gals.
*I also won some Christmas Stampin’ Up stamps from Haley that will be great for making cards (if I get around to it!). Thanks Haley!
*And, I just found out today that I won this darling reusable bag from Kelli that she made. How awesome is that? I am going to LOVE this bag, I can tell already! Thank you so much Kelli!

Speaking of crafts, I was inspired by this post at Chronicles of a Mommy to create this little “monogramed” ornament. It took me 5 minutes. Maybe. AND! it uses recycled cardboard. So it’s cute and “green!” Wahoo!

If you want to see how our family photo shoot turned out (you know you do) go over to Momology and let Christina know what a great job she does. I am quite pleased with them and this is just a few of the ones that turned out great!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I did quite a bit of Christmas shopping online the other night. It was so freeing to just sit on my sofa and clickety click away. I am just not up for running around like a crazy woman this year and figured the shipping charges were worth the savings on gas and headache. Another reason I love the internet. I bought a bunch of things from this site – Good For the Kids. Love it!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I had a clothing epiphany yesterday. Not clothes for me but for Little G. I was picking up a shirt here, a pair of pants there for him on occasion (who can resist a shirt at Tarjay for $2.48?) but there still didn’t seem to be that much stuff in his closet. Then I realized. DUH! I know The B Man had clothes at that age. Where the heck on they? So, I started the seasonal rotation of clothes last night. I did not finish. There’s a lot to go through. But I found 18 month stuff for G and now he has a closet full of season appropriate clothes that fit! Yeah, I’m a little slow on the uptake…

Tim insists that I learn how to cut the boys hair (for various reasons, including saving money). He bought this entire hair cutting kit that he is quite proud of and includes an instructional DVD. Can you see it now? Me neither. Maybe I’ll just get a Flowbee.

Or not.

Speaking of my lovely husband, he and I are looking forward to next weekend. We are dropping the boys off and my parents and heading to the darling town of Fredricksburg in the Texas hill country for two days and nights of time for just the two of us. And we are staying here. So cute. and I am So. Excited.

I wore a shirt today that I’ve had since college. I know I have had it that long because it still has a tiny stain on it where I leaned into gum on the lab table in my Sophmore chemistry class. But otherwise it’s held up pretty well. Props to “old school” Express for it lasting that long. And I have to say I was quite glad that I could still wear it!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I couldn’t get a clear pic of this because I just DON’T know how to use my camera for close-ups like this but hopefully you can still sorta see it. This is what Little G does to apples. I find them around my house like this ALL THE TIME. I assume this one is two or three days post-bites.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

The muscle in my front, top, part of my left arm (obviously I don’t know the name of that one…) has been aching during use for several weeks now. I believe it began hurting because that is the side I always carry G on. And I suspect that it has not quit hurting because if I switch him to the other side he literally cries and tries to move his body over. No lie.
K, I’m done. Miss Elaine-ous enough for ya?
Oh and it’s the last day to enter the See’s chocolate giveaway if you haven’t already!

I have the hair clipper set. I do hubby’s hair every few weeks. I have done the boys hair, but usually only in the summer when it really doesn’t matter. And I quit early enough to get some regrowth for a “real” haircut before school pictures.

When Carter was 2, I knew we wouldn’t have anymore boys, so I sold off all his baby clothes on ebay. I had to rebuy everything for Griffin, but Hayden got to use it all too.

Ben brought home a CASE of apples from work, I find those half eaten ones all over the place.

    Congrats on winning!

I’ve been thinking about posting a pic of the way my 3 year old, Nathan, eats and apple. One line all the way around. Then he’s done! 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

The apples? Kamden used to do the SAME thing.

I refuse to cut my kids hair. One, for their safety and two for to save them embarrassment. Can you say bowl cut?

    😉

Oh, and I have that same pain…it’s been getting worse lately…especially with running for some reason…sigh…carrying two 20+ lb boys on the left side will do that to you, I guess. I cannot switch to the right side to save my life!

Hey! Love the apple- made me laugh outloud of memories of Maddie’s old apples. I am officially within 10 pounds of my pre-preggo weight! Abby will be 9 months next week- I know, I’m slow. I wish the pounds would melt off with my nursing like they do everyone else. BTW, I hosted a darling little Compassion girl based on your recent post; can’t wait to get my package. Back to my “Strategic Framework” power point… you SAHM don’t know how lucky you are. 😉 -JenniferFB
