A Pretty Great Day & MEM

May 14, 2012 by Elaine

I slept in a bit.

I had coffee brought to me and breakfast made for me.

I did a load of laundry and some dishes.

I laid with the toddler while she fell asleep for her nap.

I sat in the church cry room for a bit with the same squirmy, loud (but still cute) little girl.

My husband snored on the bed next to me while I typed this.

I wore some new, pretty clothes that I bought for myself on Saturday.

I hollered a couple of times at the people I love that are shorter than me.
{what? I’m not perfect… far from it actually…}

I took a walk around the neighborhood and played with the kids outside.

I watched some HGTV.

I DID NOT cook. 🙂

I accepted flowers and homemade cards and free mimosas at lunch.

I thought about what the week ahead holds, with one child’s birthday just a couple of days away…

(two outta three ain’t bad, right? ;-p)

I wished other Mothers I know “Happy Mother’s Day”.

    It’s a great picture!

And, yeah, I did a lot of that, too (more like 4 loads of laundry and cleaned the kitchen floor), but I didn’t cook, either…and I went to Target by myself!

A great day and love the photo!

I had some much needed time with my toddler, while my mother-in-law had much craved time with the baby. Win-win, with no one getting jealous and no tantrums (kids and adults alike). All in all, a good day.

Sounds like you had a great day and that photo is just awesome! 🙂 Spent lots of time with the family, especially my momma this weekend. It was great, and MUCH needed. 🙂

I didn’t cook either but had to do some dishes. Had a breakdown in the middle of the day. It was a good day to let my emotions out but other than that it was good day!

    What a great picture!!

I enjoyed breakfast, ran around trying to get ready, had “dinner” at my parent’s house, did some more laundry when we got home, and ruined a load of clothes by leaving a tube of chapstick in the pocket of a pair of pants. It was not a stellar end to my mother’s day.

Just happened upon your blog through Mommy & Me Mondays. Mother’s Day is always a bitter sweet day for me, I can’t help but have the attitude ‘I don’t have to do that, it’s Monther’s Day!’ and end up getting upset because I have to change diapers and clean & do laundry still! It was one of the better ones though; ate way too many donuts, actually took a nap, and only prepared one meal! Glad you had a great one, Happy Monday!

I didn’t cook either! We had a cook-out at my parents. Hubs stayed at home (recovering from a surgery) but otherwise still a good day, I just enjoyed the fact this is my first mother’s day! You have a gorgeous family!
