Living Up To My Name

April 22, 2013 by Elaine

As I post a few bits of random-ness, I pretty much feel like this…

I am 4-5 episodes behind on the few shows I still watch on television.  But apparently really do not watch anymore.

I crack myself up.

I was thinking about catching up on at least one installment of Revenge so I’ll be quick never gonna happen.

I was thoroughly surprised by this the other day…

Good surprise, yes?

This kid is an ace.  And a really whiny, fussy one right now.  But that is not something she wouldn’t tell you herself.  She knows it too.  And if it doesn’t stop or at least slow down a little before Summer gets here… oh my….

The weekend was GORGEOUS around here, weather-wise.  I spent much of it outside, thankfully.

Yesterday I worked outside the front of the house, trimming things back (stuff grows like CRAZY here!!), weeding and planting flowers.

Today Tim made barbecue and we had some friends over and we ate outside and the kids played with homemade bubbles and we took a walk as a family after our guests left.

It was all nice.  Not without some kid craziness (let’s be honest) but still nice.

And Tim’s bbq is REALLY good but man, it’s messy.  I told him I feel like I have to follow him around with a thing of Clorox wipes all day just to keep up! He’s cool with it.  As long as he gets to eat his meat and share it with others… 😉  (okay, that sounds kinda weird, moving on…)

Also, I already have an idea for Old School Blogging for next month that I am SUPER excited about!  I hope many of you will join us again on May 2nd for the third installment.  It really is a lot of fun to go old school. 🙂

P.S. If you would like to keep up with my self portraits on FB you can of course, follow my blog page, where I normally post them, when I remember to take them of course.

P.P.S. The posting of this post was interrupted by a homework assignment crisis when said assignment page could not be found, late-ish on a Sunday night. Who gives 3rd grade homework on a weekend?  Don’t get me started…

P.P.S.S. Q & U are getting married in G’s Kindergarten class this week.  He’s going to be a Groomsmen.  I’ll let you know how it goes, based on how the couple feed each other their wedding cake.  Yes, there will be some! 😉

See… totally “miss elaine-ous”, yes?

Peas out.

There has been lots of whining and crazy behavior in our house this past week. I am hoping it’s because we were deluged with rain for two weeks straight. This week is supposed to be better, weather-wise. I sure hope behavior-wise too!

Peas out? Ha! This whole post made me giggle. I’m SOOOOO jealous of your nice weather, though. And my 3 1/2 year old just learned to swing herself too! It’s so awesome when that happens. Her big sister taught her, but she insists that I did. Poor Ivy. 🙂 I missed the last OSB, but I can’t wait for the next one!

We finally got some spring in my neck of the woods. We spent yesterday afternoon outside in the yard – it was great. Can’t wait to plant some flowers – your pots look lovely!

I am so jealous of your weather I can’t even! 🙂 The video I shot this weekend was of my son in full winter gear going down a slide in the snow.

So I read the thing about the wedding cake. We didn’t do the cake smash at ours cause I’m not a fan and I feel like it’s always a key to disaster. We were at a wedding 2 weekends ago and the bride turned into the grooms fist full of cake and ended up with cake in her eyes and she left the reception in tears. I say skip the cake.

Perfect, your brain works like mine. Yesterday my husband asked me how i jumped from one subject to a completely different one and i told him to just follow the bouncing ball. I’ll never catch up on Revenge either.

My kids head almost exploded when he figured out how to swing by himself. So did I. Now I can sit in the sun in peace. Kidding. He still prefers me to push him 🙂
I’m jealous of the blooms out there!

and, seriously, how do men not get that our brains never.turn.off?

The Q and U wedding? Adorable.

So why are they having the wedding? In high school we had one in my Spanish class, the whole “ceremony” was in Spanish with Spanish traditions, it was fun.
So cool that she can swing, and I love that you sang the word swing 🙂

I am so behind on TV and blog reading and even Twitter and housework and projects….hmmmm. I may have a problem. It’s been a busy spring and I don’t really think it’s going to get much easier anytime soon. ::sigh:: PS love your gardening picture!

Living Up To My Name

August 27, 2011 by Elaine

If there was any doubt that my blog is aptly named, let me dispel those thoughts right now.

This week’s posts, as a whole, do seem to prove my “Miss Elaine-ous-ness”

From sweet to sad. From stories to pictures.

Between a pic of K stuffing her face with pancakes to one of my worst memories as a child.

Or how about my re-doing of old stuff or a review of Mat Kearney’s new album?

Oh, and a VERY SHORT (and “tweet”) story thrown in for good measure.

And a lovely Blessingway.

See what I mean?

RAN.
DOM.

Anyway, just thought I’d let y’all know that I’m still on track. 🙂

p.s. I’m thinking of starting a carnival called Miss Elaine-ous Monday…  You could link up to ANYTHING you’ve EVER posted recent or not.  And we could all make new blog friends.  And it would be on Mondays. Funny how that works out, huh? So… anyone interested??

I like weeks like that. You don’t want to be all serious all the time, but you don’t want to be fluffy all the time either. Well, I don’t anyway, you can do whatever you want, it’s your blog! LOL
    LOVE the carnival idea!
