I’ll Miss These Times Someday, Right?

November 8, 2010 by Elaine

This weekend was busy. But then most of them are.

I believe we are in the beginning of the phase of our life as a family known as “BUSY”.

It seems like we have at least one birthday party almost every weekend. And at least one soccer game.

There were a couple of times this weekend that I had to remind myself to breathe.

We went to the birthday party on Saturday (yes, we had one) and then on to a local “omelette” festival.

No, I am not kidding.

Unfortunately they don’t make the 5,000 egg omelette until Sunday afternoon so we missed out on that part but we still took in the small town and the craft booths.

I do love the craft booths.

I found a precious handmade Christmas dress for Baby K.

The kids woke up before 6 a.m this morning because “daylight savings” means nothing to them.

I cleaned out the boys’ closet,

the pantry (what ARE those little moth-like bugs that were living in my Uncle Sam cereal AND invading the whole place?! and also, EW),

and my car.

I cannot believe how much STUFF my car accumulates in just a week or two.

Mail,

crafts from school,

toys,

TRASH.

The small town festival had cool old tractors too.

“Look at this huge tire!!”

Frankly, I’m exhausted. I’m taxed. My kids {i.e. boys} were challenging this weekend.

As in, “let’s take every toy off the shelf and throw it on the floor and oh also, let’s write on toys with permanent marker” challenging.

And K, well, she’s just a baby but she’s also practically a toddler and classically into EVERYdarnbleepin’THING.

So, I ate a little too much Halloween candy today (I’d forgotten how good KitKats are…) and that’s why Tim is taking the rest to work tomorrow.

Bye Candy – you gotta GO!!!

We did have a lovely anniversary celebratory dinner, just the TWO of us last night. It was a good and MUCH needed little break from this thing called

Parenthood.

{I love this picture SO much because it epitomizes their individual personalities – just sayin’}

Happy.

Monday.

(I’m keeping my fingers crossed anyway…)

P.S. I posted at the Sisterhood of The Shrinking Jeans today about South Beach and my weight loss journey. There are before and after shots (we love that stuff, don’t we?) so you just HAVE to go read and see!

My care is the same way. It is like a junk magnet. David doesn’t understand why my car is always messy. It drives me nuts.

Don’t you love it when you capture their personalities? Those are the pictures that you will always cherish.

Man, your kids grow up fast. I feel like I blinked and K is a toddler! And don’t feel bad. I have eaten every stupid twix in my house. The only excuse I can muster, is that they are barely an inch long…

Oh boy! This sounds so familiar to me. I can relate to this so much.
Hope you get some time to rest today! 🙂

I was totally gonna comment on something, and now I forget what it was. Oh, Kit-Kats. Yum. I’m not even sure I liked them before this Halloween. Thankfully I gave out all our candy (we get flocks of kids), so I only had to worry about it BEFORE the big day. And your baby has the cutest clothes. Just sayin’.

That’s the funny part is that when we have whole weekend to just relax, we will think back and remember these busy times with nostaligia.

    Irony at it’s finest.

Sounds like you had a weekend full of productivity and fun – what’s better?

And there better be pics of that sweet little Christmas dress. I gotta live vicariously through you!

i read (probably on a blog somewhere) – that the days are long but the years are short. your busy days WILL end, but the end does not seem in sight for you and i remember those days OH SO WELL! for me now though, i’m always on my kids to hang out with them, as they are older and i have more spare time. it will happen! enjoy enjoy enjoy, even though i KNOW you are way too tired to do that right now! hugs

I always look forward to busy weekends and then wish I’d had more time to just relax. I love K’s gray dress. And that tractor? My son’s idea of heaven. And oh, those bugs in the cereal, don’t scream, but they’re probably maggots. They tend to live in cereal foods.

Want to know where you got the gray dress because I love it and my girl must have it.

I eat candy every day, which is no bueno when I am struggling to hit the gym.

November is our month off from sports, but is still just as busy as ever. But mostly busy with adult only things on the weekends, so that is good for us I guess.

You will miss it…It is exhausting for sure….
that gray dress on baby K is ADORABLE! Must know where you got it….We are hoping to get a little break from sports for a couple of weeks (after this week)…but this week we have 4 football games and a school program…I love it and dread the CRAZINESS all at the same time!

Those things in your cereal were weevils…a typical finding in many pantries. They like things like rice, oatmeal, etc.

Anyway…these photos are beautiful! 🙂 I cannot believe how big K is getting and how much she looks JUST LIKE YOU.
