Happy Halloween! – Miss Elaine-ous Monday

October 31, 2011 by Elaine

Our house is already full of candy.

I thought the Halloween carnival on Friday night at the kids’ pre-school would be fun.  And it was.  But there was a “trunk or treat” in the parking lot and the kids loaded up!

Good thing I can hand it out tomorrow night…

And the kids already tried out their costumes.

I scored B’s at Dollar General for $10 and he thinks it is “awesome”!

G’s came from the local kids re-sale shop and is a tad small but it works.

And K is “Dorothy” from the Wizard of Oz.  That dress is handmade and came from a local estate sale.  I quite love it.

And.  AND!!!!!!

She kept the pony-tails in her hair the entire night.

Miracle of miracles.

Anyway, they are all excited for actual Halloween night.  I think K even figured out the wear-the-costume-and-get-the-candy connection and she’s completely down with that plan!  She’s particularly fond of the dum-dums.

Good.  More chocolate for me. 🙂

And Hey!

Love their costumes – we have a combined consignment, good will, and new fabric costumes. The pigtails are tooo cute – just waiting for my daughter’s hair to be long enough for that…she’s close to 3!

Taylor is going as Dorothy, but no red shoes. All of the kids costumes were free this year–Madeleine made her own and the boys are wearing things we already have, as are Lily and Ben. I’m sure the cheapness will show, but I don’t care! 😉

    K’s dress is fabulous!

I love the Dorthy costume. Big Girl was Dorthy one year, but I made the costume. To this day one of the hardest things I’ve ever sewn.

Glad your kids loved their costumes. I think K and Alex would have had a great time in search of candy.

Oh K’s costume is the bomb, I just love it! The boys are in the element, love it!

    Halloween is so fun!

We totally hand out candy the boys got trick or treating too…they don’t eat most of it so we hand it back out. And their teeth are saved too – they don’t like candy…just chocolate bars and chips. Works for me!

She left the pony tails in!!! I always celebrated when my girls left their hair alone, too! What an adorable trio!
