Growing Up

June 28, 2007 by Elaine

I realized I hadn’t posted anything in a while and didn’t want my next entry to be titled “2 months old” so I figured I better get on it! There’s not THAT much going on with us that’s too thrilling but when you have an infant and are mostly staying close to home, I guess that is to be expected.

Gavin is wonderful and growing quite well from my perspective. The evening after I posted last time, he rolled over from tummy to back – no lie!! So, at one month, he had already reached that milestone. Tim saw it first so I didn’t believe it until I witnessed it with my own eyes. What?! How could he already be doing this? But then I saw how he actually executed the move and realized that he must have been practicing all along in the womb, since he was such a mover and shaker on the inside! Not to mention he gets even cuter every day and already has chubby legs (see proof below).

He’s smiling and “cooing” quite a bit lately and has fun on his play mat on the floor. Ben also has fun playing with him and showing him the toys that are attached to it. Unfortunately I don’t have a pic of the both of them, but here is one of Gavin trying it out and another of him doing a happy baby face.

Thanks to those who weighed in on the potty training issue. The best advice I received was to hold off for now since Ben’s life has changed dramatically with the addition of another family member and I am grateful to those of you who made me realize that at this point it’s probably best to table the issue until he seems more ready and his life is a little less stressful (who knew a 3-year-old could be stressed??). HA!

Whew, glad I was able to post – thank goodness for the baby’s afternoon nap! Until next time…
