Friends in Beach Places

September 24, 2013 by Elaine

I dug my feet into the sand this past weekend.  It felt so damn good.  There really is no other feeling like that in the world.  To sit at the edge of the ocean, watching all of that water right in front of you, over and over again, listening to the crashes.  Yet there you sit, physically untouched by its power.

During my time at the beach, in the company of three of my good girl friends, there were many talks.  Several were about the most important things and people in our lives and a few were about things that do not matter much at all but made us laugh.

It was an amazing time to reflect and think about the power that many things hold in my life.  I am thankful that I was able to get away for a bit and with people who help me to do just that.

During one of our conversations one of my friends mentioned that she had heard this quote:

“People of high intelligence talk about ideas…
People of medium intelligence talk about things…
People of no intelligence talk about other people…”
-Anonymous

And then, I had the IDEA that we should make this an annual trip.

Man, I am SO freakin’ smart!

😉

Thanks girls.  I had such an amazing time…

I’m more of a mountain girl, the ocean kinda scares me – but I’d sit there with you for sure. I like being around really smart people 🙂 xoxo
