Fair Fun

October 24, 2012 by Elaine

So, after we witnessed the demise of Big Tex we went on our merry way through the Texas state fair.

Our day included a jumping dog show, a few rides including Katie’s first ride on the Texas Star (huge ferris wheel), the petting farm, chicken fried bacon (oh. my.), corny dogs, cotton candy and lots of walking (me still in my boot).

All in all it was a gorgeous day for time at the fair…

Boys + rides = FUN!
Katie won her first prize at her first ever fair game – magnetic fish!

Hi Dallas!
Cotton Bowl to…
Cotton Candy! 😉

Aw, my home state flag.  Makes me miss my Texas!
Our family pic in front of where Big Tex used to be!

And my body is still rebelling from all the bad-for-me food.  (But seriously, if you ever go you MUST have the Tornado Taters – BEST ever!)

    So fun! Love Katie’s outfit.
And you’re such a trooper, hauling that boot with you (glad it’s off!).

Great pictures! Looks like a fun day! This is hilarious but the guy in the blue striped shirt in the first pic looks EXACTLY like my dad from the back. I thought it was my dad at first! So funny 🙂

Looks like fun! I swear I am the only who hates fair food. The thought of chicken fried bacon makes me ill. Party Pooper!

Your pictures are gorgeous, I love the perspective on each one! Nice work.
