Birthday Smiles & Sparklers!

April 4, 2011 by Elaine

I posted this at the beginning of the week but realized that it works great for You Capture this week since we had LOTS of FUN!

It was a weekend full of smiles.  Someone I know, who may have been born seven years ago, had a great birthday and enjoyed his day to the fullest.  From homemade pancakes fist thing in the morning to an afternoon playing with his pressies, it was definitely a great day of celebration!

Never mind that his mother (ahem, me) decided it was a good idea to use a “sparkler” as his cupcake “candle” at an indoor party place.  Whoops.

Even his friends were trying to keep him away from the fire!!  And his father had to put the “candle” out inside a cup of lemonade (notice the smoke in the picture??)  Thankfully no smoke detectors or indoor sprinklers went off.  Whew!

After the sparkler “incident” gifts were opened, including these much coveted Star Wars Legos…

Baby K had fun playing in the indoor play area.

There were go-karts (riding with Grandpa)

And bumper boats with squirters…

in which someone got QUITE wet!

And as if he wasn’t soaked enough there were water ballon wars.  That were sanctioned of course. And assisted by Daddy and brother…

And after the party there was time to put together and play with new gifts.

And get love and hugs from Momma…

He’s definitely NOT too old for that! 🙂

It really was a GREAT time and even Mommy had fun driving a go-kart (haven’t done THAT in a long time!)  Thanks to B’s friends for joining us for his special day and making it even more so!
