Be Careful What You Wish For…

December 28, 2009 by Elaine

I got a new toy camera (Nikon D5000) for Christmas and besides a little cropping, the photo above is SOOC and one of my favorites that I took over the holiday (of course the fact that it’s a favorite has more to do with the subject than anything else really…).

The manual is as thick as a short novel and let’s just say I have A LOT to learn. But it IS what I wished for and Santa (a.k.a. Tim) was REALLY good to me – again.

So…. who wants to teach me??

So excited for your new toy! 🙂

I know nothing about Nikons…but I think they make Nikon D5000 for dummies books that make it easier to understand how to work it…I got one for my cam this Christmas and it has already helped me!

Not that you’re a dummie…these cams are just hard to learn!

yay, yay, YAY! You are going to have so much fun with it, Elaine – so excited for you!!! Looks like you’re already working the natural light. Isn’t it awesome to be able to turn off the flash?! Practice, that’s the best teacher. And get the book Understanding Exposure by Scott Peterson, it’s fantastic.
