20 Months and Counting…

Today my “baby” is 20 months old. TWENTY MONTHS OLD!!!

*deep breaths*

Ok, I’m back.

And yeah, yeah… I know he’s not a baby anymore but he is MY baby, so there!

So what’s up with Little G these days, you ask?

Let’s see….

Here are the words he’s saying (or at least all of the ones I can think of right now). Momma, Dadda, BEH!, Mouse, duck, book, moon, “boon” (balloon), NO! (the current favorite), milk, juice, more, “nack” (snack –and second runner up for favorite), Chicka! (for the book, Chicka, Chicka Boom, Boom), bear, nose, toes, door, apple, Anna, truck, oh no, bye-bye, “Wow Wow!” (for Wow Wow Wubzy)… OH and he LOVES to make farty noises, especially while on the changing table. Why does this have to start so soon? I know that’s not a “word” but don’t you think it’s worth documenting? Obviously I do.

*He currently loves to stand on things that are off of the floor. Anything like a stool, bench, chair, sofa. You name it, if it’s off the ground and he can climb it and stand up, he’s good.

*He naps once a day for two hours. Many times he’ll wake in the middle of it and cry out for a bit but then he usually goes back to sleep pretty quickly.

*He’ll dance to anything that sounds remotely like music. And his dancing is HILARIOUS because it’s mostly just arm movements! See video below.

*If you ask him a question he nods “yes” even if you are pretty sure his answer would be “no.”

*He loves to “hug” The B Man around the waist and then start to drag him around the room in that position. It usually turns into a wrestling session that either ends in complete silliness or a minor disaster. Good times.

*When reading a book, he has to be the one to turn the pages. His two current favorites are the aforementioned “Chicka, Chicka…” and “Brown Bear, Brown Bear.” He likes repetition, what can I say?

*Yesterday I posted about how he likes to grab our index finger with his whole little hand to lead us wherever he wants us to go. The cutest.

Here are some his (and Anna’s!) dance moves from just the other day for your viewing pleasure! (please ignore the twitter noise going off in the background…)


My little guy is SO cute right now I could eat him. I spend many moments during my day kissing his face and the top of his head and squeezing him (in a good way). He’s got his moments of “madness” that usually occur in the afternoon hours after his nap, but otherwise he’s a pretty great toddler. He’s even sat on the potty a couple of times (nothing has come out yet but hey, at least he’s sat on it!)

And I mean really, how could anyone resist this face?

    Homeboy can get down! And what’s up with Wubzy not being on everyday, we love that … what is it…dog… yellow… little guy.

    And what is with the climbing? I too have a little monkey, in the house. Adam never climbed, but Matthew wants to be as far off of the ground as he can be. It’s insane!

  3. G doesn’t look a day over 18 months; how does he do it?

    His dancing is cute and hilarious at the same time; and Anna is a great partner. Though I have to admit, early on he reminded me of the Chris Farley skit “big man in a little coat”.

  4. BWAHAHAHA on the fart noises. That’s hilarious. I mean – I’m sure YOU don’t think it’s hilarious, but I do. 🙂

    As for the dancing? Hawt.

    And as for the “Brown Bear” … we have that same obsession with that book over here. Ugh – I HATE THAT BOOK.

  10. Fart noises at the changing table. LOL Just a boy. . My little man shakes his butt while I’m trying to change his diaper. He thinks it’s funny.

  14. What a cutie pie! The video was “currently not available” when I tried to view it, so I’ll come back later to check out his moves. As for the farting noises…boys are surely born boys…I have a 14 month old who laughs everytime he toots…Already!

  15. CUTE Elaine!!!! He is freaking adorable. That was quite the little dance party, he’s definitely got some good rhythm and moves in him 🙂

  19. Brown Bear kills me! Over and over and over again. I try to change it but NO. I still like reading I Love You Through and Through . . . at least.

    J will be 18 months in a month. It is killing me. This whole time passing thing.

    Hooray for video clips. Oh how I laughed watching your baby busting his moves – soooo cute. Happy 20 months to Little G.

    My little girl and I also loooove Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Oh and her favourite word is “No” as well.

    That picture of Little G grasping your index finger is so sweet and precious.

    You are so clever coming up with such a great D list. Your list was so much fun to read. I think my brain would have gone into major spasms trying to do this!!

  21. Ahhhh, he is so cute, you are right Momma. And seeing that I had the pleasure of actually meeting him in real life, I can attest to his cute-ness.

    When are you coming back my way?

    I could possibly be heading your way in the next month or two- myy BFF from college just moved to Ft. worth and she is begging me to visit : ).

  25. That was so cute! Loved the video. I like to see Anna interacting with your boys! Not that it’s all about me or anything…OK, I’ll admit, I watched Anna 55% of the time and Little G only 45%. I’m sorry. Still, a very cute video. Thanks for sharing.
