The B Man caught me off-guard a little today when he walked in the kitchen while I was attempting to cook dinner and comfort his fussy baby sister (it’s apparently called “multi-tasking” and not “stressful” – whatever).
He was starting to unzip his school pants while saying “Mommy, wanna see something funny!?”
I was inclined to say I did not.
Next thing I knew he was showing me how he’d accidentally worn his shorts pajama bottoms all day under his pants.
Phew!
We had a good laugh and he was back off to his coloring.
We talked yesterday about how he’s going to be my big helper when we go on our road trip in about a week and half.
And he showed me how much he could help by putting “sister’s” pacifier back in her mouth multiple times while I finished preparing the meal.
We recently discussed how he’s going to be SIX soon and that next year he will be in FIRST grade. Forget this Kindergarten stuff. I told him that there would be no more “rest time” in 1st grade and his response was “It’s about time!”
He’s very responsible with his homework and the books that he brings home from school that his teacher tells him to return. Frankly, he’s better about it than I am. Many times HE’S reminding ME of things that need to be done for school.
Amidst all this “growing up” he can still play trains with his little brother and be silly at dinner time and give me a kiss on the cheek that melts my heart. He’s my big boy but he’ll ALWAYS be my first baby.
I feel the same way about my oldest!
Isn’t it nice to be able to say that you really LIKE your kids?? What a great kid you have!
awwwww…how sweet. He sounds like such an awesome kid!
Aww. What a little dear. It sounds like he is a true oldest child. How wonderful that he enjoys that role so much.
what a handsome little guy!
This hits so close to home for me. Hayden is 5 and just like this, expect for the remembering his homework and stuff. They just get too big too fast.
What a great kid!
He sounds simply fantastic, you are a lucky Momma! I bet he will be awesome on your trip, he’ll be the man of the family
He sounds like such a doll! And he’s a cutie! Great shot!
Every mom needs a helper…glad you have such a cute one around
This is super sweet!
He is such a cutie!
Yep, I’d say he’s growing up into a fine young man. How lucky are you to have such a great little helper?!
He is such a good big boy! It really is amazing when the oldest starts becoming more helpful. Especially great when they embrace the roll of big brother or sister.
He is such a cutie!
They really do grow way too fast. My oldest is 8 years old and i can’t believe how much she has grown.
Ahh, that Thomas hat is so cute!
He is such a sweetheart!
I just love the photo complete with the Thomas hat.
He is sweet. They do grow up so fast!
What a sweet boy
It sure does go by fast doesn’t it.
Seriously…we need to find that pause button.
And he is SUCH a good boy at school!! When I am there doing various things and I see him, he is always paying attention to the teacher, and following the “rules”!! Definitely NOT acting up like some of the other children in his class!! And sooooo cute!!
