WW - It's LIke He's Growing Up or Something

The B Man caught me off-guard a little today when he walked in the kitchen while I was attempting to cook dinner and comfort his fussy baby sister (it's apparently called "multi-tasking" and not "stressful" - whatever).

He was starting to unzip his school pants while saying "Mommy, wanna see something funny!?"

I was inclined to say I did not.

Next thing I knew he was showing me how he'd accidentally worn his shorts pajama bottoms all day under his pants.

Phew!

We had a good laugh and he was back off to his coloring.

We talked yesterday about how he's going to be my big helper when we go on our road trip in about a week and half.

And he showed me how much he could help by putting "sister's" pacifier back in her mouth multiple times while I finished preparing the meal.

We recently discussed how he's going to be SIX soon and that next year he will be in FIRST grade. Forget this Kindergarten stuff. I told him that there would be no more "rest time" in 1st grade and his response was "It's about time!"

He's very responsible with his homework and the books that he brings home from school that his teacher tells him to return. Frankly, he's better about it than I am. Many times HE'S reminding ME of things that need to be done for school.

Amidst all this "growing up" he can still play trains with his little brother and be silly at dinner time and give me a kiss on the cheek that melts my heart. He's my big boy but he'll ALWAYS be my first baby.

  18. And he is SUCH a good boy at school!! When I am there doing various things and I see him, he is always paying attention to the teacher, and following the "rules"!! Definitely NOT acting up like some of the other children in his class!! And sooooo cute!! :D
