You Know, This Blogging Thing is Kinda Fun

So, I've been blogging for over two years now but it's only been about a year that I really started getting involved in this community of woman bloggers (and a few guys too!) that continues to propagate itself (I 'm constantly amazed at the new blogs I find EVERY. DAY.)

The other day when I told one of the ladies in my neighborhood Mom's group that I occasionally win "free" stuff through blogs and give away things on my site as well, she was floored. And I when I added that several women that I now consider good friends are people I've never met in real life, she looked at me kinda funny. She does have a blog for pics of her daughter but had no idea it was as involved (and wonderful!) as it is.

That was me just a little over a year ago.

All this to say that in the last couple of weeks the blogosphere has been very kind to me. I have a won a couple of things, had a talented bloggy friend make a new "button" for my blog AND met another blog/twitter friend IN REAL LIFE.

So first I just want to say "thanks" to Wendy for the Mom's Plan it! calendar (can't wait to get organized!) and to the ladies at The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans for the handy fitness caddy, which is PERFECT for my trips to the gym!

Also, Mel at Adventures of the Reluctant Housewife was kind of enough to make the new blog button for me up there at the top of my left sidebar all because she's that generous and enjoys doing such things! I love it, don't you? Please feel free to add it to your blog! ; )

AND! Last Saturday I had the pleasure to meet Haley from @ Love, Life, Family and Thensome. She drove all the way up from southern Texas with her darling boy and joined me for some scrapbooking and introduced me to some of the cutest paper ever! Here we are with our little blondies!

By the way, I am averaging meeting a new blog friend once per month since I met Lisa last month. And next month I will meet a BUNCH at our area bloggy meet up (I don't seem excited about that, do I?). And then perhaps BlogHer (?). Oh how I hope I get to go!

So... this is just what the blogosphere has done for me lately. And it's ALL good... wouldn't you agree?

P.S. I'm going to go ahead and link this to Tuesday's Tribute since I feel like it was one and Jay is one of those "guys" I was talking about!

  3. Hi Elaine

The blogosphere certainly is a "beauty full" thing!!

When I first started blogging I had no idea that I would "meet" so many wonderful and special people, (including you, Elaine) from different parts of the world.

I am so thankful for the blogging community and all the goodness in it.

    Lots of love
    Elise

  6. Don't you love the feeling of community that is coming with this blogging thing? I have been at it for only about 5 months, and that's probably the longest I have ever kept my ADD brain on one thing before!!

    Look! Something shiny!! (runs away)

Congrats on all your newfound friends, and a great blog. Im so jealous of all those folks who get together like you do...my wife will never let that happen.

"Honey! Im just heading out to go meet some hot women from the internet! Back soon!"

Have fun with Em...she cracks me up.

And thanks for coming out for Tuesday's tribute!!

  9. I'm stopping by from Tuesday's Tribute. What a cute blog you have! I've become recently addicted to blogging, too. It all started with a family blog that just had pictures of the baby, and then I started my own mom blog. I love it!

  10. I never even talk to nonbloggers about blogging. It is too hard to explain and they always look at me like I'm crazy when I talk about my bloggy friends. I try and explain it like we are pen pals that get to talk every day but I don't think that really covers it all. ;)

  12. Aren't the get togethers just the best? I've got another one coming up next week!

And, I feel weird telling friends about my blog and my blog friends, too, but I'm slowly getting over it.

Heck, I feel weird talking to hubby about it, too!

  13. I totally feel the same way. But in real life I get all kind of strange looks from people that don't participate in the bloggy world. Like I can't make friends in real life or something. Oh well, we will just keep how great it is as our little secret.

  14. Once in a roomful of mothers, I sat silently as they trashed using the internet...I was thinking to myself, people, you have NO idea how wonderful it is!

Someday I am meeting you in person, so help me God!

And those two boys are so cute! They almost look like brothers, blondies :)

  15. OMG! I got on! I CANNOT wait for our dinner. I was talking about this blog friends meeting thing with my husband. He has come such a long way since I met up with you guys last year. I get to come without security. I may still have to bring my gps chip in case one of you kidnap me and take me to the mall.
