I bought a gingerbread house kit on sale at Macy's a few weeks back (yeah, you know, that Martha Stewart stuff...) The B Man and Anna had fun helping me decorate it today. Now the question is, how long can we wait until we eat it? Hmmmm....
The "naked" house

The little elves hard at work
Gotta make sure the shingles are actually edible...
Pretty close, huh?

Sweet!!!! Literally.....both ways. Sweet tasting, and such a sweet looking job. I've never done this, in all my years.
ReplyDeleteMy Wordful Wednesday is Photoful too this week. And I'm having my 1st ever blog giveaway if you would like to check it out...from the link on my sidebar! Happy Wednesday to you.
My daughter and husband have a tradition each year. They decorate a gingerbread house together. I love it! You always have to make sure it's all edible. LOL
ReplyDeleteHelp a famiy very dear to my heart have a memorable Christmas. It only takes a stamp! http://www.three-peas.com/2008/12/operation-christmas-card.html
Hi Elaine
ReplyDeleteI have had so much fun catching up on your blog.
I have seen similar gingerbread houses and thought they were such a great idea. I am yet to give one a go. I think it would make a fun family activity.
It sounds as though you and your husband had a perfect weekend getaway. You look fabulous in the photos.
I enjoyed having a peep at your Christmas decorations. Your tree is gorgoeus and you have beautiful ornaments. I think your "believe" santa sign is so sweet. Oh and that hot chocolate with colored marshmallows looks so yummy. Christina did such a stunning job of your family christmas photo.
That Christmas tree in Galleria Mall is amazing. That would definately be worth seeing.
Thank you so much Elaine for keeping my sister in your prayers. We appreciate your thoughts and take a lot of comfor in knowing that so many people are thinking of and praying for our Renae.
Lots of love and hugs
Elise.
Oh that looks like so much fun :)
ReplyDeleteLooks better than the pic on the box, that's for sure! I'm not sure I could get all the way to the end in making one, without eating it all.
ReplyDeleteThey did a great job. My kit still sits unopened, I only got as ambitious as making some ice cream cone trees over the weekend. I need me some lion courage.
ReplyDeleteYour house turned out awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks terrifically YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteI bought the same kit...and I think your kids did a better job decorating it than I did ours.
ReplyDeleteMine looks terrible.
It looks wonderfully edible......and fun to assemble! :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteLooks good enough to eat. Wait...that would defeat the purpose, right?
ReplyDeleteI think their's is WAY better than ol' Marthas! :o)
ReplyDeleteHow pretty!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Wilton's kit and I'm really hoping the kids and I get to put it together soon. Every time I click on a blog, someone else is putting one together and I'm getting jealous! *lol*
you did a really great job!

Yum! Would you be mad if I stole a gumdrop :)
ReplyDeleteMacy's eh? You're high class. The gingerbread house sitting on top of my fridge right now comes from Sams. The "shingles" are so cute, and they did an awesome job!
ReplyDeleteLooks impressive! I may have to try that!

It turned out great! Looks almost like the picture. That never happens for me.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is super cute! I think we'll have to do one next year!
ReplyDeleteaww thats the best gingerbread house its too cute ohhh do they taste good ive never tried one
ReplyDeleteY'all did amazingly well. How much actually made it on the house compared to the mouth?
ReplyDeleteYou did great! OMG. Seriously, you may have missed your calling.
ReplyDeleteYou should have seen the mess I ended up with in the back of the minivan today after a gingerbread making extravaganza with our kids. I ended up instructing them to assemble their houses sideways "like a tornado blew them over" because they kept collapsing.
Let's just say the minivan is going to smell like Royal icing well into 2009.
Super cute! We haven't done one this year yet..better get that on my to-do list soon!
ReplyDeleteOh! Very cute, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI am saying that now is the time to dig in!! :)
