So after I dropped the car off and got my rental mini-van (that apprently I will now be quite attached to at the end of the month) I went to work out (yay! good for me!) When I got home I realized that I had left my garage door opener in the smashed up car and since I didn't have a house key, I was locked out of my house.
Yes folks, it only got better...
That is when I started cursing my own name for actually locking every door to the house, even the back one. I decided that maybe there was a window open somewhere. See, I would have simply driven back to the collision place but I had just made a lunch date with a friend and needed a shower in a MAJOR way. So unlocked-window-hunting I went. Turns out one of our bedroom windows that is low to the ground remained unlocked. (And yes all you potential theives out there - it is now locked so don't even think about it!) I bet I was quite the sight crawling through my own doggone window, all sweaty and smelly.
I did manage to retreive the GDO right before I met my friend for lunch. Phew!
And just so you know, all this was going on while all the kids were at school. If it had been with kids I might of just had to check out of life for the rest of the day.
Oh and then on Friday I went to get something out of the back of
Luckily, yesterday (praise God!) we made it through unscathed.
Oh except I got "swindled" at the mall into buying these:

I got one 8 X 10 of The B Man's pic for free and paid for two 5 x 7's of the one of Little G. That's how slow they were at The Picture People. They were literally out in the mall, begging people to come get pictures of their kids taken and my friend Claudia and I obliged.
Oh and can you totally tell how The B Man was dressed for the occasion?? Yeah, that's one of the "junk" shirts he likes to wear that I mentioned in a post week before last. At least now it's on the blog for posterity. Don't you know that just warms the cockles of this mother's heart.
I will leave you with one other image from today that no, I did not purchase. What a shame, huh?
P.S. If you came over from McMommy's POW (or anywhere else for that matter) check out my GIVEAWAY that is going on now! : )

Oh Elaine, I'm sorry but I laughed at the locked-out story! I'm sure you weren't laughing, but it's just one of those things that I think ANYONE could do. I've done it (locked myself out).
ReplyDeleteCUTE photos of the boys :-)
What an awful day Elaine! Your writing was so descriptive though, that I might have had to snicker. Hope that is ok??
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so cute. And hey be glad you have one of him in his favorite play shirts. It won't be long before that shirt is long and forgotten and how fun it will be to see it.
The last pic is a great pic too! His little belly...too cute
The 3rd picture would have been my 1st pick! Insanely cute!...Oh and our favorite Thomas shirt was red, now it's morphed into a pinkish hue...I'm so burning it!
ReplyDeleteSorry that the rest of the week did not go too well. Glad to hear that you have a rental van and do not have to worry about that while your car gets fixed.
ReplyDeleteYou reminded me, we have to get our big guy's 5 year portraits done. I have to figure out where to get them done this year.
Holy crap. I just realized I still need to pick up my garage door opener from a rental car place from 10 months ago...do you still think they have it?
ReplyDeleteI have been SWINDLED by the mall photos too...but can you call it robbery when when they are so cute???
This is one of those times you look back and laugh at ;)
ReplyDeleteThe pics are too cute to call it a swindling; how could anyone turn that down?!
they are great shots though! i love them...
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope this week is a million times better for you!
Oh no, and awful day.
ReplyDeleteBut those are some super handsome boys and shots! Seriously. Adorable.
WOW, bloggy hugs for you. What a week. I have hit myself in the head before also, man does that hurt! Hope OCTOBER is WONDERFUL and you can just put september behind you.
ReplyDeletei didn't know yall were going to go get pictures made. i might have considered it! anyway, i went to finish line and got some great deals on some new workout clothes (cause mine are huge and falling off of me!).
ReplyDeleteanyway, very cute pics and i am glad this week is going better!!!
Being a photo junkie, these are awesome indoor portraits - I love the natural laughter factor!
ReplyDeleteSOOOO CUUUUUTE.
Holy crap, woman! You should be wearing that CAUTION tape all around you! ;)
ReplyDeleteThose pics are SOOO stinking cute!
I am amazed at the humor you were able to add! I hope the week gets better.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are adorable :)
You've got to go back and purchase that last pic. That is sooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd... bummer about being locked out. I hate that! Hope your day goes better.
That last picture is hilarious. Is your little boy digging for gold in his belly button?!
ReplyDeleteWatch out for those mivan doors, they'll get you every time.
My, my, you DID have a bad week. I'm so sorry!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures as a bonus...our PP closed down.
That STINKS about your car! Why in the WORLD should it take that long?
And just so you know, you're not the only one to clock your head on something last week. I busted my head TWICE in the same day while cleaning the other day. See, cleaning is hazardous to your health! I KNEW IT!
I hope you're week continues to be better...
Aw, stink!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say...the Bug Man has locked me out of my house twice. Yes, I left him a key under the mat...MY key. When I tried to enter through my garage door, he had LOCKED THAT BLOOMING DOOR!! We NEVER lock that door! I had to go through the neighbors gate to climb our fence and...as you did...search for an unlocked window. Yep there was one.
Now I need to hide a key in a tree or something! Ugh!
Elaine, you poor girl! Can I give you some advice? Turn your horseshoe upside down, all the luck is draining out of it.
ReplyDeleteI hope that is the end of your luck and those pictures are precious! I never would have thought anything of the shirt...it's blue, it's cute, no worries ;-)
Oh, Elaine! I'm glad you are able to laugh at yourself...you are laughing, right?
ReplyDeleteI think you should have bought that last one! Too cute.
Good gosh Elaine, when it rains it really pours! Here's hoping for a dry spell for you. At least there was an unlocked window - there was NO unlocked window the time I did it. And the inlaws with the spare key were out of town. Now my neighbor has a key!
ReplyDeleteThe boys are tooooo cute! I don't think I would have been able to resist that last one - I LOVE it!
Aww - I love those little guys. They're so cute I just want to raspberry that belly.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your day - but I admit, I chuckled. It sounds like something that I would have done!
yeah, it's hard to believe all THAT can happen to one person. I'm so sorry-hope next week is way better.
ReplyDeleteCute pics! Drew likes to show his belly too, especially when meeting new people, or in church or any other embarrassing time.
;)
Now those are too precious! I love the silliness of that last one!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are having a better week this week!
Fun pictures. I don't think you got swindled.
ReplyDeleteI also laughed out loud and the lock out story. So sorry, but it was funny.
Happy POW!
Oh, I didn't know your week got worse...glad this one has been better. The pictures are adorable. I forgot about this when we were there but really didn't have time...you know homework and all!
ReplyDeleteWell the good news from this all? You have two totally adorable little boys! And I think you should have bought that last picture! :) Nothing so great as a candid shot here and there...
ReplyDeleteHappy POW, hope next week is a better one!
Has it been a week? A lot has happened in my neck of the woods in a week.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable photos! The little one reminds me so much of my nephew at that age. Just wanna squeeze him! Very fun!
One thing after another, huh? I hate days like that. Hope your weekend is better. :)
ReplyDeleteCute pics...that's funny about the Picture People. Two locations near us actually went out of business just recently. No wonder they are scouting out moms with their kiddos in the mall.
So sorry about the lockout and head clunk, but glad that you're week is looking up now. As for those pictures- the first two are adorable! The third, well, it's a classic, lol. At least you have image digitally to remember for years to come.
ReplyDeleteWow, it sounds like you had a crazy week. My husband had to "break" into our house once and I would have just love to see the sight of that!
ReplyDeleteHappy POW!
Adorable photos of the boys!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't have to break-in to your house.
Happy POW!
I feel a little bit better knowing I'm not the only one who had such a disaster of a week! Sorry that you had the unfortunate experience of being a part of the club though.
ReplyDeleteHere's to hoping for better luck!
