B-Day Blog

So here is a picture of the most delicious cake my wonderful husband made for me for my birthday. Can you tell what it says? Okay, so he's no cake decorator, but it sure was yummy! And let me tell you, Ben enjoyed it too! Yes, today I am 32 and 32 weeks pregnant (exactly). Funny how that worked out, huh? It was a good day - it even finally decided to rain (which I love in the Spring 'cause it makes everything so Green!!)

In the last two days I have had a nice steak dinner cooked for me and Pei Wei (oh so yummy honey-seared chicken), lots of cake and a little bit of chocolate. Aren't birthdays fun?!

Ben is quite excited for his own birthday to roll around (it's a week from today) and is already claiming to be 3 years old and anticipating even more cake-based desserts... so I am sure I will be sharing more birthday happenings in just a few days.

Here's a carefree shot of me on my 32nd birthday. And if you believe the "carefree" part you are a dreamer like me... ; )

Head's Up!

I don't have any cute pictures right now, just a baby update. I had an appointment on Monday morning and I met with the nurse practitioner since my doctor is on vacation. She was very nice and I liked her a lot and we had a good talk that turned into talk of a c-section birth. Why you may ask? Because right now the little man is in the breech position and his head is up by my belly button rather than down below, where it should be. I am now about 31 1/2 weeks along and there is still time for him to turn around. He may do so since he's quite the mover and shaker, but I am not counting on it. I am quite nervous about having a c-section but was also told to consider it anyway, due to (how do I say this nicely?) the extra effort it took to have Ben the regular way! So, maybe it's God's way of making the decision easier for me? Who knows... Anyway, just keep us in your prayers - as I am sure you all do anyway ; ) - for all to go well no matter what needs to happen. Otherwise I am feeling pretty good, just tired and BIG!

Okay, I lied... I do have a cute picture of Ben (big suprise) eating off of the spatula the other day when I made real whipped cream for a pie I made.

Spring has Sprung!

Not much to say tonight except that I am so glad Spring has pretty much arrived! This is my favorite time of the year for many reasons, but most especially for the flowers and blooms and just the abundance of "life" all around. I took a few pictures of the Bradford Pear tree in our front yard the other night because the blooms were just awesome this year. This is the tree that I have a love/hate relationship with because in the spring it is just gorgeous but in the fall it's a "bear!" Needless to say I am in love right now... It's like one huge flower!!

Our friends Chandler, Claudia and Ethan (also our Godson) were over on Saturday night and I tried to get a few pictures of the boys playing. They are so cute together and just like their daddies, one is quite taller than the other! I know Ben's eyes are closed, but I still thought this was the cutest picture. Bribe material for later in life, right?? ENJOY SPRING!!

SUCCESS!

So Ben has made the transition to his new room (with just a little extra push...). On Friday night Tim and I decided to go full throttle and Tim actually took the mattress out of the crib. He did cry a little while about it, but once we laid in his bed with him for a few minutes and brought all of "guys" (stuffed puppies) over to the new bed, he was ready to go ahead and stay the night. On Saturday morning, after his first night in the new bed, he just wanted to stay in it and play! God bless him!

Once we felt like he was settled, Tim did go ahead and put the crib back together and higher so now it's ready for an infant again. Ben asked if the baby was going to sleep there now and we said yes and then he said "And then I can have my crib back?" Oh dear... I think he will understand more once his brother arrives.

Also, Ben has been "practicing" already for Easter by doing some mock egg hunting in our living room. Right now he likes to play this game and hide and seek. Here is shot of him with the "eggs" (a.k.a his various faux grocery foods) that he found last night.

Lastly, I did have a doctor's appointment on Friday and all is going well. I actually lost a pound this time! Don't worry, I haven't been trying, trust me! I had to have a shot of RhoGam, since I am a rare blood type and it's a good chance the baby could have a conflicting blood type to mine. I had to have it with Ben too. Otherwise, all sounds and looks good. Eleven more weeks and counting...
