Let's Start This Thing

So I have decided to start a blog for our growing family since it seems to be the thing to do and I have to keep up with times, right?! I will have to experiment with how this works, so we shall see how it goes.

The most exciting thing to talk about is how wonderful my newphew Daniel is doing at home and how nice it was to be able to hug and cuddle him over the Thanksgiving weekend!! He's such a little sweetie. Talk about something to be Thankful for!! Here's a picture of the little guy with his eyes open (this does not happen very much at this stage!) He's a sweet one and he very much resembles his big sister Grace.

When we got home we came home to a yard and driveway full of leaves and after Tim loaded them into 9 bags it was time to watch more "fall!" Our oak tree is pretty much empty but the Bradford pear has yet to drop all of it's leaves and although pretty, it is our nemesis at this time of the year. I assume after the cold weather that is supposed to arrive later this week, we should have nothing better to do than to gather the rest.

About Me

So, if you couldn't tell from the name of my blog, I'm Elaine! : ) Some of my friends in high school and college used to call me "Miss Elaine-ous" and so I thought it would be a great name for the blog since it's kind of a play on words and well, I can be pretty random at times!

I am a SAHM of my two boys, The B Man and Little G, and my little girl, BabyK.  My husband is Tim and he is a wonderful guy who takes care of us all. I am a runner and an amateur photographer so I post  a lot of photos because well, I love them!  Blogging has really helped foster my love of photography and in the last year I have started to take pictures for friends and acquaintances in the area.

I can also be a little sarcastic at times but that is how I am in real life, so it fits!  Many of my IRL friends tell me that they can "hear" me speaking in my posts.

You'll find things on here about my other hobbies such as baking and planning my kids' b-day parties, singing and of course writing/blogging! I love to read magazines and enjoy shopping, when I have time, both online and out and about.  I also like to find vintage/antique things for the house. And my friends and family mean the world to me so I post about them often as well. On Mondays I host "Miss Elaine-ous Monday" in which you can link up ANY post of yours that you want! It can be from that same day or even months ago!

Before the SAHM gig I was in the home decor industry and although I aspire for our home to look perfect and beautiful all the time, for some reason it just doesn't always work out that way... ; )

I am a Texan through and through but we are currently living in Louisiana where my husband took a job a few years ago. I'm thankful we can still drive back "home" to visit family and friends pretty often.

I love the community of friends I have made through blogging and I've seen and read a lot in the 6 plus years I've been writing in this space.
