15 Years and 2 Weeks

Tim and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary two weeks ago, on November 6th.  I honored it in part, by being on the internet less that week, so this post is a tad belated.  However, I still wanted to put these words out into the universe, in my space here.

I love you, so much, my Tim.  Thank you for sticking by me through thick and thin… 

 

15 years…

 

of saying I love you

of encouraging me to clean out my closet.

of me encouraging you to take a trip and travel.

or just take out the trash.

of changed light bulbs and changed minds

of meals, cooked by me, cooked by you, or cooked by someone else (yours are still the best).

of “you make me so mad!” and “I’m sorry.”

of “ups” like new cars and a house to call our own and BABIES! and celebrations galore of love and life.

of “downs” like not always the best decisions and death and loss.

of taking care of each other when we are sick

of taking care of each other even when we are well.

of losing sight of what is most important

of getting our sight back.

of you making my coffee

of me folding your clothes,

or vice versa

of you warming my side of the bed during the winter

of me letting you run the air conditioner at full blast in the car longer than I would like

of holding hands in the movie theater

and sharing a soda

of trips in cars and on planes and even on a few trains

of promotions and job changes,

and changes of home

of cleaned up messes and late night discussions

of laughing at your jokes and laying in our “snuggle” position in the bed, with my head in the crook of your right arm

of me tickling you in that spot on your side

of wins and losses

of long days and longer nights

of “I wish you didn’t have to go”s and “welcome home, I missed you”s.

of instant messages and emails and hand written letters, cards and notes

of making your family mine and my family yours.

of making our own family.

of saying “I will” and committing to us EVERY day of our lives.

  2. Happy anniversary!!!! I love this so much. I am celebrating 15 years this summer. Your post made me think of all the little and big things that go on in a relationship and marriage…and after 15 years there are so many little and big things, and so much to celebrate and honor. Thanks for the reminder. And sending you love and a big high five because 15 years!!! Woot! Woot!
